In this collection of eight essays including the introduction, Noordin Hassan's literary works are discussed by scholars and literary researchers from various perspectives and approaches. The approaches are variously based on genre and form, Islamic thinking and metaphysical elements, the influences of tradition in the texts and the aesthetics of the performing arts.

This collection, it is hoped, will add to the burgeoning critical studies of an author and his works. The perceptions and interpretations of Noordin Hassan's works in this collection attempt to connect the meanings of Noordin's literary works from the perspectives of Islamic thinking and values besides seeing the texts as dramatic literature of great value and impact.
